Chief Justice DY Chandrachud announced the Supreme Court's debut on WhatsApp, offering advocates direct access to cause lists, case filings, and listings. Describing it as a small but impactful initiative, he emphasized its potential to bolster access to justice and transparency within the judicial system by integrating WhatsApp with the court's IT infrastructure.

The official WhatsApp number (87687676) was provided, with clarification that it won't accept messages or calls.

This move aims to transform daily work habits, promote paper conservation, and benefit the environment. Advocates-on-record and parties-in-person will receive automated messages on electronic filings, cause lists, orders, and judgments via WhatsApp, enhancing convenience and complementing existing access through the court's website.
