A Moscow court issued an order on Tuesday for the arrest of Yulia Navalnaya, widow of the late Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny, in absentia for a period of two months. The court accused Navalnaya, who resides outside of Russia, of involvement with an "extremist" group.
This decision means she would face immediate arrest upon entering the country. Since her husband's death earlier this year, Navalnaya has emerged prominently, advocating for what Navalny envisioned as a brighter future for Russia.
She has met with several Western leaders, including U.S. President Joe Biden, and recently took on the role of chair at the U.S.-based Human Rights Foundation, vowing to intensify efforts against Russian President Vladimir Putin.
