On Thursday, the Supreme Court reaffirmed its decision not to pause the NEET UG 2024 counseling process.
"Counseling will proceed and we will not halt it. If the exam is disrupted, the entire process is affected, so there is no need for concern,"
the court stated during the hearing. Additionally, the court acknowledged the NTA's announcement that a re-examination for 1,563 students would be scheduled for June 23, with results expected before June 30 to ensure the July counseling timeline remains unaffected.
During the hearing, the NTA informed the Supreme Court that a committee has been formed to reassess the results of more than 1,563 candidates who received 'grace marks' due to time lost during the NEET-UG exam.
The NTA further stated that the committee has decided to void the scorecards of these 1,563 candidates, allowing them to retake the exam.
The re-examination is scheduled for June 23, with results expected to be released before June 30.
