Following recent hearings involving Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, over 150 Delhi advocates submitted a representation to Chief Justice of India Dhananjaya Y Chandrachud. They expressed concerns about unprecedented practices and alleged procedural irregularities and conflicts of interest in the Delhi High Court and trial courts.
Specifically, they questioned Judge Sudhir Kumar Jain's actions and called for his recusal due to a potential conflict of interest involving his brother, who is a counsel for the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The letter also mentioned an administrative order preventing vacation courts from issuing final orders and criticised delays and procedural issues in bail cases.
